Louisiana Court of Appeal, 1994

State v. Willis

State v. Willis
Louisiana Court of Appeal · Decided December 21, 1994 · Marvin, Sexton, Stewart
647 So. 2d 677; 1994 La. App. LEXIS 3567; 1994 WL 709037 (Southern Reporter, Second Series)

State v. Willis

Opinion of the Court

DENIED. Applicant seeks a copy of the police report in his case under the public records act without cost (or at a reduced cost) due to indigency.

Without a showing of particularized need, applicant should be prepared to pay the regular service fees for the document. In this instance, no particularized need has been shown. Therefore, the trial court did not err in denying free access to the requested document. State ex rel. Nash v. State, 604 So.2d 1054 (La.App. 1st Cir. 1992).
