Concurring Opinion

BARHAM, J.,

concurs. However, a literal reading of the law R.S. IS :574.4 entitles parole consideration upon the serving of Yz of each sentence, though the applicant has a total confinement under several consecutive sentences. However, a strict reading and construction of this statute in this fashion departs from the purpose of parole as reflected in R.S. 15:574.2 to 15:-574.14. The legislature should correct this hiatus.
