State v. Granger

State v. Granger
Supreme Court of Louisiana · Decided October 24, 1977 · Sanders, Summers
350 So. 2d 1207; 1977 La. LEXIS 6538 (Southern Reporter, Second Series)

State v. Granger

Opinion of the Court

In re: Feryl Granger, applying for writ of certiorari and review.

Writ granted. Bond of $250,000 is excessive in this case. Bail is reduced to $15,000.

Dissenting Opinion

SUMMERS, J.,

dissents. There are six pending charges against the applicant. He is a previous offender also. I see no abuse of discretion in the ruling of the trial judge considering the nature and number of charges.

Dissenting Opinion

SANDERS, C. J.,

dissents, being of the opinion that the reduction is far too drastic under all the circumstances.
