Opinion of the Court

In re Segura, Brian; — Defendant; Applying For Supervisory and/or Remedial Writs, Parish of Iberia, 16th Judicial District: Court: Div. H, No. 12-1467; to the Court of Appeal, Third Circuit, -No. KW 15-00619;

Denied.

HUGHES, J.; would grant and assigns reasons. .

Dissenting Opinion

HUGHES, J.,

would grant the writ.

h While the trial judge was undoubtedly well-meaning in her words to the defendant that “if you admit and confess Jesus as your Savior, to be forgiven of all your sins,” she has given him a resource in 'the great' death penalty delay game. I would address the issue now gather than have it hovering over the remaining post-conviction proceedings.
