May 26, 2020 In re Proposed Recall Petition to STATE OF MINNESOTA IN SUPREME COURT A20-0748 Request the Recall of Timothy James Walz, Governor of the State of Minnesota. ORDER A proposed petition for recall of Governor Timothy Walz has been filed with the Office of the Secretary of State. The Secretary of State has determined that the proposed petition meets the requirements of Minn. Stat. § 211C.04 (2018), and has forwarded the proposed petition to the Clerk of the Appellate Courts in accordance with that statute. Minnesota Statutes§ 21 lC.05, subd. 1 (2018), provides for review of the proposed petition, as supplemented by supporting and opposing materials, by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 21 lC.05, subd. 1, the persons proposing the petition shall provide the undersigned with any additional materials, factual or legal, supporting the proposed petition by filing those materials, along with proof of service, with the Clerk of the Appellate Courts, using the appellate courts' e-filing application, E-MACS, if required to do so. See Minn. R. Civ. App. P. 125.0l(a)(l). All materials shall be filed so as to be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on May 29, 2020. One copy of all such materials shall be personally served on Governor Timothy Walz or his designated representative by the same deadline. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Governor Timothy Walz may submit any materials, factual or legal, opposing the proposed petition by filing those materials, along with proof of service, with the Clerk of the Appellate Courts, using the appellate courts' e- filing application, E-MACS, if required to do so. See Minn. R. Civ. App. P. 125.0l(a)(l). All materials shall be filed so as to be received no later than 4:30 p.m. on June 2, 2020. One copy of all such materials shall be personally served on the designated representatives of the persons proposing the petition by the same deadline.
