August 12, 2020 STATE OF MINNESOTA IN SUPREME COURT A20-1040 A20-1041 Robert LaRose, et al., Respondents, vs. Steve Simon, in his official capacity as Minnesota Secretary of State, Defendant, Republican Party of Minnesota, et al., Petitioners. and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Minnesota-Dakotas Area State Conference, et al., Respondents, vs. Steve Simon, in his official capacity as Minnesota Secretary of State, Defendant, Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., et al., Petitioners. ORDER Based upon all the files, records, and proceedings herein, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED THAT: 1. The petition of the Republican Party of Minnesota, et al., and the petition of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc., each for accelerated review of these appeals be, and the same are, granted. The petitioners shall proceed as the appellants. 2. The two appeals, LaRose v. Simon, No. A20-1040, and NAACP Minnesota- Dakotas Area State Conference v. Simon, No. A20-1041, are consolidated for purposes of argument and decision. The parties shall address the issues relevant to the consolidated appeal in a single set of briefs under the schedule set out below. 3. The appellants shall serve and file their brief on or before August 18, 2020. Respondents shall serve and file their brief on or before August 25, 2020. Appellants' reply brief, if any, shall be served and filed on or before August 28, 2020. Briefs shall comply with the format requirements in Minn. R. Civ. App. P. 132.01. 4. Oral argument will be held before this court at 10:00 a.m. on September 3, 2020. The Clerk of the Appellate Courts will notify the parties regarding the arrangements for a remote hearing.
