A threat of future harm is not sufficient to establish the defense of duress; instead, the threat must be of immediate death for noncooperation. State v. Rosillo, 282 N.W.2d 872, 873-74 (Minn.1979); see also Minn. Stat. § 609.08 (2000) (requiring threats creating “a reasonable apprehension * * * that [the] participator is liable to instant death”).
