OF HUMAN RECOMMENDATION SERVICES, et al., 8 Defendants. 9 10 Plaintiffs Jenna R. Sliger and Christopher J. Cartier filed this lawsuit in 11 September 2024, alleging various civil rights violations related to a custody 12 dispute. Before the Court is Magistrate Judge Carla Baldwin’s report and 13 recommendation (R&R) (ECF No. 10), recommending that this case be dismissed 14 without prejudice for Plaintiffs’ failure to comply with the local rules. 15 Magistrate judges are empowered to issue reports and recommendations 16 on dispositive issues, which district judges may “accept, reject, or modify, in 17 whole or in part.”

(b)(1)(C). Where, as here, neither party objects 18 to a magistrate judge's recommendation, the district court is not required to 19 perform any review of that judge's conclusions. See Thomas v. Arn,

, 20 150 (1985). 21 The R&R explains that after Plaintiffs filed their complaint in September 22 2024, several notices have been returned as undeliverable. (ECF No. 10 at 1.) The 23 Court ordered Plaintiffs to update their address by January 16, 2025 and 24 cautioned Plaintiffs that failure to do so would result in dismissal. (Id.) Plaintiffs 25 failed to update their address or file anything else. (Id.) The R&R therefore 26 recommends dismissal based upon Plaintiffs’ failure to notify the Court of their 27 change of address pursuant to LR IA 3-1. (Id. at 2.) 28 1 Plaintiffs have not objected to the R&R and their time to do so has now 2 || expired. (ECF No. 10.)
