- Contract — Agreement in writing — Seal—Consideration—Family settlement. An agreement in writing, under seal, based by its own recitals on a “valuable consideration,” between brothers and sisters, the purpose of which is the equalization of the distribution of an estate, and therefore in the nature of a family settlement, is a binding and enforceable obligation.
