DECISION ON STIPULATION1
On July 21, 2017, Sara Torres-Ruiz filed a petition seeking compensation under the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.2 ECF No. 1. Petitioner alleged that she suffered from Guillain-Barré syndrome as a result of the influenza vaccine she received on November 6, 2014. Id. at 1. In March 2018, the parties began engaging in settlement negotiations. See Mot. to Suspend Deadline at 1, filed Mar. 13, 2018 (ECF No. 12). While Respondent maintains that the influenza vaccine did not cause Petitioner’s injury, the parties filed a stipulation on March 14, 2019. See Stip. at 1–2 (ECF No. 26).
Based upon my own review of the record, I conclude that the parties’ stipulation (as attached hereto) is reasonable. I therefore adopt it as my decision in awarding damages on the terms set forth therein.
The stipulation awards: • A lump sum of $177,067.24, in the form of a check payable to Petitioner; and • An amount sufficient to purchase an annuity contract as described in Paragraphs 9–10 of the parties’ stipulation (as attached hereto).
Stip. at 2. This amount represents compensation for all damages under Section 15(a) of the Act to which Petitioner is entitled.
I approve a Vaccine Program award in the requested amount set forth above to be made to Petitioner. In the absence of a motion for review filed pursuant to RCFC Appendix B, the clerk of the Court is directed to enter judgment herewith.3
IT IS SO ORDERED.
